Rotational Capacity Testing

Tests of bolt assemblies (without DTI's) measuring the capacity of the bolt to be tensioned to a preload 15% above the minimum, with a "nut factor" less than 0.25. Costs of these tests vary with bolt diameter and grade.

DTI/Bolt Installation Verification Testing

Tests of bolt assemblies with DTI's measuring the ability of the DTI to impart a preload in the bolt 5% higher than minimum, while showing a "useable gap", and at the same time measuring the capacity of the bolt set to "flatten" the DTI without undue inelastic deformation in the first few threads. Costs per test vary.

Applied Bolting uses the newest bolt tester, built by Skidmore-Wilhelm of Cleveland, which combines calibrated torque and tension.
